Top 5 Communication Apps Performance in Madagascar Q4 2021

The final quarter of 2021 witnessed interesting trends among the top communication apps in Madagascar. Data from Sensor Tower reveals some key insights into the performance of these apps on a unified platform, combining both iOS and Android metrics.

Messenger by Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced consistent weekly revenue, maintaining around $6 to $7 throughout the quarter. Downloads showed a significant increase from 2.5K in early October to nearly 4.9K by the end of December. Weekly active users also saw a gradual rise, peaking at approximately 302.4K at the close of the year.

Snapchat from Snap Inc had no reported revenue during this period. However, downloads increased substantially from 443 in late September to over 3.1K in the last week of December. The app’s active users also grew steadily, ending the quarter with around 18.9K.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with no revenue reported. Downloads showed a positive trend, starting at 1.8K and climbing to nearly 2K in late December. Active users remained high, fluctuating around 2.5M throughout the quarter.

Phoenix - Fast & Safe by CloudView Technology also reported no revenue. Downloads increased from 828 in late September to approximately 1.7K by the end of December. Active users saw a consistent rise, reaching about 15.3K at the end of the year.

Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser from Opera reported no revenue during Q4 2021. Downloads saw modest growth, starting at 940 in late September and ending at 934 in December with fluctuations in between. Active users fluctuated but ended the quarter slightly lower at around 13.2K.
